This shot is from a short sci-fi film called Slice of Life. It’s a homage to Blade Runner and other 80s sci-fi classic. They even went so far to replicate the filming techniques those films used – most incredibly the use of minaturues. The shot above, and the entire film, was shot in a garage using minatures.

The people behind the film come across as very funny, very committed, and very skillful. Some interesting physics for making miniatures seem full-scale – more on that later.
And miniatures are still used today by directors like Christopher Nolan.
